Literary Attempts
When I get struck by an influx of creative energy, I draw and design websites. When I suffer from hormonal imbalance, I write bad fiction. I’ve posted some pieces that aren’t so bad (relatively speaking). I’ve reserved the more embarrassing ones for when I feel the urge to make fun of myself.
Poetry
- Sky — My response to a writing assignment about creating a sensory experience centered on a single word.
- Elephant Parade — Some parts of this poem are loosely based on events in my own life. This is my personal favorite out of all the poems I’ve ever written.
- Comb — More like a rough draft than a finished piece. I kind of like it, though.
Short Stories
- Movie Night — My first and only attempt at writing a short story (at least one that isn’t for children). I honestly thought I was never going to be able to finish this assignment.
- Susan’s Spectacular Spectacles — I had to write and illustrate a storybook for children in one of my creative writing electives. I wrote about a little girl with bad eyesight. The story is mostly autobiographical, because I also got my first pair of glasses when I was very young.
