My PE class went rowing in the Marikina River last Wednesday. It was my first time to row, and I had a lot of fun! Sure, we were directly under the blazing heat of the tropical sun for three hours straight (thank God for sunblock). Sure, while rowing we were constantly sprayed with water from the river, which played host to an impressive array of garbage and small, dead animals (I actually saw a floating rat in the murky brown soup). Sure, we could barely move our arms by the end of the activity (my arms and my shoulders stopped hurting only today). And sure, the place didn’t have a bathroom where we could shower afterwards (good thing I brought rubbing alcohol). Despite all that, I really did have fun! I’m definitely glad I got to try it. Sun exposure, bacteria, and strenuous activity never hurt anyone. Hmmm… Well, I guess they actually could and probably did. Whatever. It was still fun
In other news, the semester is ending and hell week is upon me. I have 4 papers, 4 final exams, a final photo critique, and a report scheduled for the next 2 weeks. Wish me luck, and pray for my survival!

School is now in full swing. I’m actually enjoying my classes. It’s a very foreign feeling—something I never felt in the land of circuit boards and electrical currents, otherwise known as ECE. For the ten-thousandth time I will say that I am soooo glad I shifted.
I took Film 110 (Black-and-White Photography) as an elective this semester. I’m loving it! I’m pretty sure that most of the photos I’ve taken will compel real photographers to exclaim “Who in heaven’s name gave this girl license to use a camera?!“, but I’m also certain that at least one or two of them are not completely vomit-inducing. We’re going to make contact prints next meeting, and I’m really looking forward to it
As for non-school activities, Fatz had a birthday party last Saturday. For the first time in a really long time, my entire high school barkada got together. I hadn’t seen some of those girls since December, so I was pretty psyched. Jess took some pictures—I’ll be sure to post them once Jess sends them out. Paging, Jess! Hehe

Hey, everyone! I hope you all are having a good 2004 so far. I decided to spend my entire day off from school growing roots in front of the computer. I’ve been sitting here since 9 in the morning making layout # 13 for Skylight. And now it’s done! What do you guys think?

A bunch of things has happened since my last post 10 million years ago. I was finally able to shift out of ECE into a much less mind-boggling course, Journalism. I’m a lot less stressed now and considerably happier.
I’ve also lost a bit more weight since October. My mom insists that my weight is fine as it is now, but I still want to lose 10 more pounds before the summer. If I manage to do that I’m going to treat myself to a fun, new swimsuit. Wish me luck!
I had a really great time during the holiday season. I ate a lot of good food and was able to hang out with all my friends. Ironically, the one thing I wasn’t able to do during the holiday break was rest. I was actually more tired at the end of my three-week vacation than I was before it started.
Speaking of tired, my back and my eyes are starting to hurt from being in front of the PC all day. I’m going to take a break now. Bye!

Yes, you can believe your eyes. It is a new layout. I wasn’t really planning on updating this site, but I had a sudden surge of creative energy (which I haven’t had much of for the longest time) this afternoon and this was the result. Hope you guys like it, because I sure do!

Not much has changed since my last post four long months ago. My entire second semester reeked of academic suckiness (nothing new there), and I’m still not liking ECE too much. I’m definitely going to try to see if I can still shift to another course next year. I did, however, lose a lot of weight because of all the stress, so I suppose I can thank ECE for that.

Happy holidays, everyone! Right now I’m enjoying my much needed Christmas break. I had to get through a barrage of exams first, though. Two of them I’m pretty sure I passed, one I’m not so sure of, and one I can bet my dog’s life on that I failed. Miserably. I know because of the 3 hours we had for that exam, I spent the first hour thinking of creative ways to answer mathematical questions, the second drawing cats and fish bones on my answer sheets, and the last sleeping while drooling on my questionnaire. I may have managed to get a 10% on that exam, but that still remains to be seen.
It’s actually been a pretty eventful break so far. Last Thursday, Convergence, a techie magazine show on Net-25, came over to do a feature on me for their E-life segment. I was really apprehensive about the whole thing at first, mainly because I didn’t want to embarrass myself on national television, but it turned out to be quite a fun experience. I suppose it was partly because I managed to coerce Aggie and Chrissa to keep me company during the shoot, and be interviewed for a little bit, too. At least we can all look silly together!
The people from the show were also really nice. They weren’t at all intimidating, and Jar, one of the show’s hosts, even sounded so much like our favorite high school teacher.
Then on Friday, Chrissa and I hit the malls for some last minute gift shopping. I wasn’t able to finish everything, but I think I did pretty well considering how many other last-minute shoppers I had to compete with that day. I managed to stay more or less on budget, too! I still have to find gifts for a few more people, but I know I won’t be seeing them until after the holidays, so I’m not too worried.
My old high school class also had its annual Christmas reunion party last Saturday, and that’s always loads of fun. It was great seeing the old whackos again. I even made sure not to drink too much so I’d at least remember how much fun I had
