About Me & My Website

Taken in 2008 My name is Nikki. I’m a 24-year-old Filipino whose life goals include bungee jumping at least once, illustrating a children’s storybook, and seeing as much of the world as possible.

I would describe myself as creative, at least occasionally. I get sudden bursts of inspiration at the most inconvenient moments, like when I’m about to sleep or when I’m in the bathroom (seriously). Usually, when I get the urge to create, I draw or design websites. Sometimes I take pictures or write.

Sentimentality makes me uncomfortable, which is really just a more grown-up way of saying that I don’t do all that mushy love stuff. I enjoy books with strange titles and indulge in equal doses of sarcasm and silliness. I like the letter S.

Among those that make me happy are green tea ice cream, airplanes that can take me to Greece in 2010, my odd parents, my geekishly adorable friends, my MacBook Pro, sexy shoes, furry animals, Queen’s music, Tim Burton’s strangeness, wasabi seafood pizza, clear blue skies, not dying while hiking to remote waterfalls, having part of my corneas vaporized, tongue-in-cheek humor, and Pixar movies.

After graduating from university, I moved to Singapore to get a taste of real independence. I’m now living my first big adventure.

As for Bottled Sky…

This is my online playground, personal soapbox and creative outlet. For 6 years I called it Skylight, but I changed the title in 2006 when a few of my friends offered to buy me a domain as a gift. Want to view the layout history?

At my dad’s urging, I nominated my own website for the Philippine Web Awards in 2001 and again in 2002. It was awarded Best Personal Site both times.
