Hi, my name is Nikki.

I’m a twenty-something Filipino whose life goals include bungee jumping at least once (done!), illustrating a children’s storybook, and seeing as much of the world as possible. After university, I moved to Singapore to get a job and a taste of real independence. I’m now living my first big adventure.

A big, wet hello

I would describe myself as creative, at least occasionally. I get sudden sparks of inspiration at the most inconvenient times, like when I’m about to sleep or when I’m in the bathroom. When I feel the urge to create, I draw or design websites. Sometimes I write or take photos.

Sentimentality makes me uncomfortable, which is really just a more grown-up way of saying that I don’t do all that mushy love stuff. I enjoy books with strange titles and indulge in equal doses of sarcasm and silliness. I like the letter S.

Among those that make me happy are frozen yogurt, airplanes that can take me to Greece, the sky, caffeine, pretty shoes, activities that involve heights and harnesses, my MacBook Pro, furry animals, Queen’s music, not dying while hiking to remote waterfalls, tongue-in-cheek humor, and Pixar movies.

I <3 dogs

For six years this blog was called Skylight, but I changed the title in 2006 when I finally got my own domain name. At my dad’s urging, I nominated it for the Philippine Web Awards in 2001 and again in 2002. It was awarded Best Personal Site both times. In 2008 it was featured in the Web Designer’s Idea Book.
