Illustration Friday: Suit
This little fella is my interpretation of this week’s Illustration Friday topic, suit. Tigers are such handsome animals, and I thought a cartoon tiger would look cute in a suit. It was partially inspired by a Calvin & Hobbes comic strip where Hobbes dressed up in a tie for Susie — but mostly I just wanted to draw a tiger in a suit

As usual I drew the outline on paper then did the coloring on Photoshop. The original sketch was a full-body picture, but I had to stop inking because the pen dried out, and the only other pen I had was twice as thick. Methinks I need to buy more pens

Colored in Photoshop? It actually looks like you colored it using good ‘ol crayons. Great job! xD The tiger looks very sharp.

I’d love to be able to do illustrations! That looks adorable. That’s the only problem with doing art though - the resources are expensive and run out far too quickly. (Or perhaps I just use them to excess.

I remember the particular comic strip of Calvin & Hobbes you’re referring to, astoundingly enough, and I can see the parallels between your creation and Hobbes’s suit. It’s well-executed, great job.

[…] and Nikki made me realize it. She made a new illustration yesterday and posted it in her website for everyone to go ga-ga over. Well in my case, it mostly went like this: “Oh, crap. Why can’t I draw like that? I hate her so much! *imagines strangling Nikki* Hmm, maybe I should copy this and pass it off as my work.” […]

I like you made it grainy so it looks like crayons, and the small smudge of red on the white polo… nice effect! I’m still a photoshop newbie, so I’m heading to your next entry… the tutorial!
